The first of the Riu Palace
resorts to be built in Mexico is still one of its finest. Located in the
planned community of Playacar just south of Playa del Carmen, this resort
anchors the six-resort all-inclusive Riu resort complex that also includes
the Riu Palace Riviera Maya, Riu Playacar, Riu Yucatan, Riu Tequila and Riu
Lupita. Guests staying at the Riu Palace Mexico have exchange privileges at
all these sister properties.

This beachfront resort offers several restaurants and bars as well as
entrance to the night club “La Piñata” located at the Riu Tequila.

All of the 434 deluxe
guestrooms are junior suites with central air and ceiling fans. Each
room has its own liquor dispenser and restocked mini bar all of which is
complimentary. Extra amenities include iron, ironing board, satellite
TV, in room safe, hairdryer and balcony or terrace. A handful of suites
are also available with additional living room and dressing room, some
also offer Jacuzzis.

Two large beachfront swimming
pools and a smaller children’s pool are surrounded by sun loungers, parasols
and a Jacuzzi on an expansive sun terrace. Towel service is complimentary. A
